Because we understand kids...we can support parents!
Parenting is hard, and particularly stressful when a child is diagnosed with a disability. It feels like all of the attention is focused on helping the child but parents (and siblings) also need assistance in coping with their own feelings and frustrations. Our specialized counseling team is here to help.
No family is without problems, arguments, and stress.
Maintaining harmony in your family is challenging. The way you parent your children, manage your own personal issues, and handle conflict has impact on the entire family. Sometimes, you just need someone to listen, help strategize, and work through it all.
We understand that parents of children with special needs are faced with additional challenges. It's hard! Knowing you are not alone and have support helps.
Parent counseling offers you unbiased guidance and support. We'll help you understand and identify not only the needs of a child with special needs, but the needs of every individual in your family...including you...and support you as you manage your family unit.
Virtual and in-person sessions available.
It’s comforting to know you’re not alone.
Parenting children with varying abilities is challenging.
The opportunity to connect with other families who understand,
and share similar experiences can be a valuable form of support and community.
We foster a safe, confidential and welcoming environment for parents and other caregivers of children with varying ability, to meet, share experiences, ask questions, and receive support.
A personal one-on-one session with Dr. Sierra Cano-Gillis will help identify your own individual areas of need, help create a map of the needs of the whole group, and allow parents to utilize the benefit of insurance to cover the cost of the group.
