Sensory Integration Therapy

When the senses are not functioning properly it can negatively impact a child's ability to learn, to socialize, to behave and to feel emotionally healthy.  Signs of Sensory Integration Dysfunction can include, but are not limited to:
  • Only eating foods of a certain texture or color
  • Only wearing clothing that "feels" a certain way
  • Difficulty tolerating touch
  • Licking/mouthing objects
  • Auditory Sensitivity (unusual intolerance of loud noise)
  • Hyperactivity

Sensory Integration Therapy can help a child's senses to become regulated.  It is important that Sensory Integrative Dysfunction be treated by on occupational therapist with training and experience in this area.
